Why We Started Teddy’s Choice

Why This Brand Exists in the First Place

We started Teddy’s Choice because of our own dog, Teddy. In 2020 we adopted Teddy while living in our apartment in London. Like many dog owners in the city, we quickly learned that indoor training can be challenging. Between busy workdays, apartment living and unpredictable weather, it was not always possible to take Teddy outside when he needed to go.

 

We tried many disposable pee pads, but none of them worked the way we hoped. Some pads moved around on the floor. Others leaked and damaged the carpet. Many started to smell quickly. On top of that, we were throwing away pads every day, which felt expensive and wasteful. We knew there had to be a better solution. We wanted a pee pad that stays in place, absorbs quickly and protects the floor. It also had to be reusable so it could be washed and used again without losing quality.

 

When we could not find a product that solved these problems, we decided to create one ourselves. We started developing a reusable pee pad that is highly absorbent, leakproof and easy to wash. The goal was simple. Make dog training easier, keep homes clean and create a more sustainable alternative to disposable pads. What started as a solution for our own dog Teddy eventually became Teddy’s Choice. Today we help thousands of dog owners make training easier, cleaner and more practical.

Why Most Pee Pads Solutions Miss the Point

Meet the People Behind Teddy's Choice

We are Emily and Sarah, a mother and daughter living in London with our dog Teddy. Sarah is 52 and spent most of her career working as a primary school teacher. She has always been the practical one in the family, someone who likes to solve everyday problems with simple and thoughtful solutions. Emily, now 27, worked in digital design and has always had a creative mindset. While Sarah focuses on practicality, Emily naturally thinks about design, usability and how products can fit into modern life.

 

Although our careers were very different, we always shared the same love for animals. Our home has always been full of that energy. When Teddy came into our lives in 2020, everything changed in the best possible way. He quickly became part of our daily routine and the centre of our home. Living with a dog in a London apartment, however, taught us a lot very quickly. City life is busy, space is limited and the weather does not always cooperate. Like many dog owners in apartments, we had to find ways to manage everyday situations inside the home. Instead of seeing these challenges as frustrations, we started thinking about how things could be improved.

 

That mindset has always been part of who we are. Emily has always believed that practical problems deserve practical solutions, and Sarah has always loved turning ideas into real products. What started as conversations at the kitchen table slowly turned into the idea that we could create something ourselves that would genuinely help us but also other dog owners.
 

So we decided to build what didn’t exist.
